We study the tunneling effect in nanometric devices called magnetic tunnel junctions. For this, we solve the Schrödinger equation using the WKB approximation. In the end, we obtain important results associated with two quantum phenomena: i) The tunnel magnetoresistance. ii) The spin transfer torque. The calculations were done in Mathematica.
