I share with you the 12 most interesting facts about living in the Germany. In particular I focus on facts related to the city of Munich. This is a personal opinion so it may differ from others.

I've been fortunate to live in Germany, and what is better, to do it not only once, but multiple times throughout my life; therefore, what is written here reflects the opinion of someone who has had a lot of experiences in this wonderful side of the world.

The garbage: the glass and plastic containers are located on the outskirts of the houses. Unlike the paper and organic waste containers that are inside them.
Traffic lights: There are pedestrian traffic lights with homosexual motifs. For example, when the traffic light is red we can see a couple of women holding hands and when it is green we can see a couple of men. These symbolize tolerance, openness and acceptance of homosexual love in the city.
The toilet: In Germany, men sit down to urinate, which is much more hygienic than doing it standing up.
Books: There are book shelves in the streets so that citizens, if they wish, can take a book home for free. No permission is needed for that.
Michael Jackson's monument: Located in front of the Bayerischer Hof hotel, this monument actually belongs to the Renaissance composer Orlando di Lasso. However, photos and memorabilia of Michael Jackson have been placed on it to pay tribute to him. This is because Michael Jackson used to stay at the Bayerischer Hof whenever he was in town.
The taxis: They are cream colored and belong to the German brands Audi, BMW, and Mercedes Benz.
Gasteig: In 1929 Hitler attempted a coup d'état from this location, of course there used to be the Bürgerbräukeller, a place where people met to drink beer. In 1979 it was demolished and the Gasteig cultural center was built in its place. This is not commonly known because the Germans, feeling ashamed of their history, prefer not to talk about it.
The chicken: In supermarkets, chicken meat ranges from 6 to 40 euros per kilo. The most expensive corresponds to chickens that grew up in the field and the cheapest to chickens that lived in cages all their lives.
Neues Rathaus: It is Munich's city hall. Although its construction resembles a very old Gothic palace, it was built in 3 phases from 1867 to 1904.
MaximilianStr.: It is Munich's most expensive avenue, it houses the most exclusive brands when it comes to clothing and accessories. In contrast to others, MaximilianStr. is simple and small. The whole street is painted with one color and restaurants are not allowed.
Cohibar City: I have visited several Latin bars in Europe and I can say that this is the best because it is unique. Unlike others, it does not focus on salsa or bachata but on Latin music in general.
Englischer Garten: It is a park with an area of 3.7 km². There are 3 special things about this park: i) People can walk completely naked if they wish. ii) In summer time, people often jump into the Eisbach River, which runs through the park, and go with the flow for a refreshing dip. iii) A stone strategically located in the Eisbach river, just at the entrance to the park, generates a standing wave half a meter high. Due to this, surfers have chosen this place as a recreational point that can be enjoyed every day of the year.
